El Jadida

El Jadida City

The ancient city of El Jadida is home to some of Morocco’s most majestic architectural treasures and picturesque souks. Explore a labyrinth of winding narrow streets flanked by colonial-era buildings, which hark back to the area’s Portuguese-inspired past. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site fortress, and indulge in some of Morocco’s best seafood dishes as you watch the fishing boats pull into the harbour with that day’s fresh catch.

El Jadida – Oualidia

The charming fishing village of Oualidia couldn’t be more deserving of its nickname, the ‘Blue Pearl of Morocco’. Nestled beside the ocean and the tranquil waters of a protected natural lagoon, it’s also where you can enjoy some of the world’s finest oysters, and where Morocco’s first ever oyster farm was founded. Just the ticket after a day walking along the corniche or visiting the ruins of the old Kasbah of the Sultan.

It's also a hotspot for watersports enthusiasts, who frequent the city’s shores to surf, waterski, kitesurf and windsurf across the Atlantic’s waves. Take a boat ride along the river for the perfect way to see the sights.

Or simply wander the streets and admire the buildings and architecture, which range from impressive art deco creations to traditional mid-century homes. For the ultimate view, head to Anfa district and gaze down at Casablanca from the top of the hill.
